Workplace Priorities comes from Work Design. It's part of our work to support the workplace design community: a place to discuss the issues shaping the workplace, and how work environments are adapting to new ways of working.
Workplace Priorities is a survey and benchmarking tool. It asks the people who use a workplace what matters most to them. It then turns their answers into ranked priorities that organizations and their design teams can act on.
The way we work is changing faster than the places we work in. Workplace Priorities helps organizations understand those changes from the people living them, before decisions about space are made.
Over time, anonymous results from many organizations will build a shared picture of how the workplace is evolving, one the whole industry can learn from.
Since 2010, Work Design has published thought leadership and case studies from architects, designers, strategists and the organizations they work with.
Our purpose is to share what's working, question what isn't, and keep the conversation about the workplace moving forward. Workplace Priorities extends that work, from sharing ideas to giving the industry information it can use.
Bob is an architect by training and led Fox Architects for 20 years. In 2026 he sold the firm and retired from practice, but stayed engaged with the profession through Work Design, which he founded in 2010 as a way to engage with his peers.
The workplace has been his passion throughout his career, and he enjoys open-minded debate about where it's headed. He believes the workplace has to keep adapting, and make room for new ideas and innovation, if it is to continue providing purpose and value to people and organizations. Supporting that conversation is his primary focus now.
We want to hear from you. Share a project, suggest a topic, take part in a survey, or tell us what you think the workplace needs next. New ideas are welcome, including ones that challenge ours.
